It was a super busy weekend, including a memorial, a Hawaiian themed birthday party, dog/cat sitting, and a baseball game. Somewhere in there I found time to paint, using a set of metallic watercolor paints that were a gift from a lovely friend. Of the four images I committed to paper, this is my favorite. It is the kind of image I would love to capture in needlepoint, but when I paint on needlepoint canvas I am not so free with lines and color. Perhaps the starting point should be pulling the fibers, in these mother of pearl shades, and working from there. Those stray pencil lines could be added as surface embroidery. Hmm, the housework may have to wait one more weekend while I work this out.

In the meantime, check out our sock and baby yarn sale, I need to stay busy here at work packing orders!
